Is it all that hard to save documents as rtf file in the newer versions of MS Word? I only ask because we have an author submitting and resubmitting his novel as a doc file...and I've seen it FIVE times now.

Really, do newer versions of Word make rtf files that hard to create? I'm seriously puzzled by his persistence in sending us a doc file.

Somehow my email with my notes for one of the galleys disappeared, so I have to start over. Lord. Maybe I should do the whole thing on notepad first and transfer over. I know what happened: I cleaned out my out box and the email was in there waiting to go out and got caught in the cleanup because I wasn't paying attention ( Read more... )

The February releases have been delayed at LP so we have a little breathing room on the galleys. We already know both books will need a second, corrected galley. Today's Feel Good Things: Since little one ate a very late breakfast, which means a very late lunch, I'm having some biscotti with my tea to tide me over until we eat lunch. I've been picking at chapter 31 and making okay, if slow, progress. There seems to be a lot more deep thought going on with this chapter, if that makes sense. A lot more pauses as I try to figure out how to adjust the language and the depth. Maybe it's just a perception thing that it feels like it's taking a little more to get it revised "right ( Read more... )
